Highlighting Rosland Capital’s Formula 1® Coin Collection

An image of the Formula 1® Miami Grand Prix 1.5 oz Gold Coin 2022 in its packaging

This fall, racing fans witnessed renowned driver Max Verstappen come away victorious from the Formula 1 Heineken Silver Las Vegas Grand Prix. While this was an all-new circuit, the city has a rich history with F1, having previously hosted events in 1981 and 1982. The 2023 FIA Formula One World Championship race calendar also saw stops in a number of other prominent U.S. cities, including Miami (which staged the Formula 1 Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix) and Austin, Texas, which hosted the Formula 1 Lenovo United States Grand Prix in October.

At Rosland Capital, we’ve enjoyed collaborating with Formula 1® over the last five years, celebrating the legacy of U.S.-based races and some of the world’s greatest automobile racing athletes through our Formula 1® Coin Collection.

Keep reading to learn more about the series and how it has grown over the last several years.

A Testament to Racing and Craft

While our F1 collection includes a variety in design among the pieces, a quality they share is their testament to artistry and skill. More specifically, our official Formula 1 licensed products are legal tender proofs minted by Swiss-based MKS PAMP, one of the world’s finest producers of precious metal coins. The quality and production care make the pieces timeless.

Below, I’m happy to highlight a handful of pieces from the collection, including the latest releases.

Coins for Previous U.S.-Based Events

A handful of coins in our F1 collection pay tribute to specific events. For example, both the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix 1.5 oz Gold Coin 2022 and the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix 1/4 oz Gold Coin 2022 honor the first Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix, which took place at the Miami International Autodrome and was won by the aforementioned Max Verstappen. Both coins have reeded edges and are 999.9 fine gold. Additionally, the two pieces feature the name of the Grand Prix in Formula 1’s unique proprietary font and showcase the F1 logo in their centers.

Coins for Motorsport Racing Legends

Beyond honoring events, many of our F1 coins honor the racing talent themselves. From Max Verstappen to so many other decorated racers, there is no shortage of talent in Formula 1 racing. Two drivers that Rosland Capital’s Formula 1® Coin Collection recognizes are Michael Schumacher, with the Michael Schumacher 2.5 oz Silver Coin 2022 and Michael Schumacher 1/4 oz Gold Coin 2022, as well as Jackie Stewart, with the Sir Jackie Stewart Gold Kilo Coin. Like the other pieces in this collection, Schumacher and Stewart’s coins are fine gold, or fine silver, and feature highly detailed portraits of the accomplished champions.

The Newest Coins in Rosland Capital’s Formula 1® Collection

Since the 2022 pieces were released for the Miami Grand Prix, Rosland Capital’s Formula 1® Coin Collection has continued to grow. Its latest collectibles include the Formula 1® Championship 1/4 oz Gold Coin 2023, All the Formula 1® Champions, 1950-2022, 1-Kilo Silver Proof, 2023 Issue, and All the Formula 1® Champions, 1950-2022, 1-Kilo Gold Proof 2023.

The Formula 1® Championship 1/4 oz Gold Coin 2023 is especially notable, as it features all three U.S. Grand Prix locations previously mentioned: Las Vegas, Miami, and Austin. On its obverse side, there is also Ian Rank-Broadley’s portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, something the coin has in common with both the All the Formula 1® Champions, 1950-2022, 1-Kilo Silver Proof, 2023 Issue and the All the Formula 1® Champions, 1950-2022, 1-Kilo Gold Proof 2023.

The kilo coins are both offered with a carbonite presentation case and a lucite display case. Numismatists should note that no more than 100 of the 1-Kilo Silver Proof will be made, and no more than 10 of the 1-Kilo Gold Proof will be produced, speaking to their rarity, demand, and desirability.
